The Kenya National Police Service, in collaboration with a leading driving school, has carried out road safety sensitisation campaigns in Nakuru and Trans Nzoia counties ahead of the festive season and the national commemoration of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Safety.

In Nakuru, the sensitisation targeted public transport operators along the Nairobi–Kisumu highway, where officials revealed that at least 4,068 lives had been lost nationwide by November 4, 2025, due to road accidents.

They noted that most crashes result from preventable human behaviour and urged drivers to obey traffic rules strictly.

Traffic enforcement teams also warned that stern action will be taken against road safety offenders.

In Trans Nzoia, the awareness drive extended to Michael Wamalwa Hospital in Kitale, where accident victims are receiving treatment.

Stakeholders used the visit to reinforce messages on responsible driving and reminded motorists of the heightened risks associated with increased festive season traffic.
