Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested a wanted suspect allegedly linked to cases of abduction, gang rape, and a series of phone-snatching incidents in Thika.

The suspect, identified as Crispus Mwangi Gitambi, was arrested at his rented house during an operation in the Athena area.

A suspected stolen motorcycle was recovered and is believed to have been used during some phone-snatching incidents.

Gitambi was subjected to an identification parade during which he was positively identified in connection with an ongoing case of abduction and gang rape pending before the Thika Law Courts, and in connection with four other robbery cases currently under investigation.

Detectives are now investigating the extent of his involvement in the reported cases and trying to identify any other people involved.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned in court upon completion of the ongoing investigations.
