Police have arrested the suspected mastermind behind Saturday's shocking school bus attack in Matungu, Kakamega County.

According to Matungu Police Station records under OB Number 22 of June 14th, an intelligence-led operation led detectives straight to Mayoni village. There, undercover officers cornered and apprehended a male adult identified as Edward Oyayo, popularly known within the criminal underworld as "Dust."

Investigators believe "Dust" was the chief coordinator who organized the violent ambush on the school bus on Saturday evening. He is currently locked up at the Matungu Police Station as a key suspect.

During the incident, suspected hired goons targeting political leaders hurled stones hitting a school bus ferrying children at Mayoni bridge.

Security sources confirm that a major manhunt is still underway for his accomplices who are still at large. "Dust" is expected to be arraigned.
