Plane skids off runway at Mandera Airstrip

An Embraer aircraft operated by EBB Air was involved in a runway excursion incident at Mandera Airstrip on Friday, April 24. 

The aircraft, registration number 5Y-EBB, had departed from Nairobi en route to Mandera when it overshot the runway and came to a stop in nearby bushes adjacent to the airstrip.

All passengers and crew on board have been confirmed safe following the incident.

Emergency response teams arrived at the scene promptly and continue to manage the situation.

Relevant authorities have launched investigations to establish the cause of the incident, with assessments ongoing before normal airport operations can resume.
