Pharmaceutical manufacturer Cosmos partners with Schneider for modern energy systems

Pharmaceutical manufacturer Cosmos Limited has modernized its digital infrastructure and energy management systems to boost regulatory compliance and operational efficiency, partnering with global energy technology firm Schneider Electric.

The deployment of an integrated monitoring, energy management, and digital validation platform aims to deliver higher data integrity and operational visibility for the Kenyan drug maker, addressing critical sector requirements for precision and traceability.

The upgraded digital ecosystem incorporates a stabilized Building Management System (BMS) for real-time environmental monitoring, Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert (PME) for energy tracking, and a Pharma Compliance Package designed to provide audit-ready data and traceable quality reporting.

According to the companies, the integration has reduced downtime, lowered reliance on manual monitoring, and improved energy cost controls across the facility.

This transparency is helping us control costs, plan better, and support our long‑term sustainability goals as a manufacturer,” said Jacob Malowa, Manager in charge of Engineering and Projects at Cosmos.

The initiative comes as pharmaceutical manufacturers face increasing regulatory scrutiny regarding data accuracy and environmental controls.
