Outrage after adult men caught forcibly giving school children alcohol
Audio By Vocalize
The clip captures a group of schoolboys gathered in a residential area, surrounded by multiple adults.
Throughout the short video, an adult man in a white jersey and grey trousers is seen passing around a bottle of alcohol, actively offering and handing it directly to a schoolboy who opens up his mouth and quickly takes a gulp.
Another adult man, dressed in a red polo shirt, stands nearby, gleefully observing the interaction.
The pupil, who is clearly a minor in primary school uniform, accepts the drink while surrounded by giddy onlookers, raising immediate concern over minor exploitation, illegal supply of alcohol to minors, and child protection violations.
"Piga, piga... Meza meza! Iko aje?" one of the men asks the pre-teen who has just taken a sip of the liquor.
"Hapana hapana hapana!" another man is heard saying, as if attempting to dissuade his friends from the act.
"Unataka kuonja?" another man is heard asking one of the boys, who can be seen running away, laughing.
Obviously aware of their crime, the men can be heard warning the boys not to share the incident with their handlers.
"Na usijaribu kusema umepatiwa kitu hapa wewe!" one of the men sharply warns.
The incident quickly triggered widespread anger across social media, with X users demanding swift police intervention, the arrest of the perpetrators, and strict enforcement of child safety laws.
The video was originally posted to Instagram by an account under the handle @eganz.a.
Following immediate public outcry and demands for law enforcement intervention, the account has been deleted, but not before citizens tagged the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the National Police Service (NPS) to trace the account holder and location.
Kenyans overwhelmingly view this incident not merely as bad parenting or irresponsible behaviour, but as a deliberate act of violence, child abuse, and reckless exploitation of minors for online attention.
The shocking act swiftly sparked national conversations regarding moral decay and the negligence of adult guardians, with many expressing their shock at the audacity to not just record the act but also share it online.
One X user wrote: "This is completely unacceptable! Adults giving alcohol to children in school uniforms in broad daylight? @DCI_Kenya need to track down these men immediately!"
Someone else said, "What kind of society are we building when grown men are the ones luring schoolboys into drinking? This isn't just unethical; it is a crime against minors."
On his part, X user @Ochieng_Ke said: "Where are the parents and local administration? Seeing adults encouraging young boys in uniform to take alcohol is heartbreaking and enraging. The people handing over those bottles must be identified and prosecuted. We cannot normalize corrupting young students like this."
Several Kenyan statutes and legal frameworks have been directly violated in this footage.
The Children Act (2022): Section 20 strictly protects children from all forms of physical, emotional, and psychological abuse, exposure to hazardous substances, and cruel or degrading treatment.
Force-feeding a minor alcohol constitutes severe child endangerment and physical abuse.
Additionally, the Alcoholic Drinks Control Act (Section 28) prohibits the sale, supply, or provision of alcoholic beverages to anyone under the age of 18 stating that supplying alcohol to minors carries strict financial penalties and imprisonment sentence.
