In a chaotic and dramatic FKF Special General Meeting (SGM) held in a Meru hotel, FKF Vice President, McDonald Mariga, Robert Macharia, Violet Kerubo, Collins Opiyo Kalle, Bernard Lagat and Gabriel Mghendi were expelled through a vote, following charges of gross misconduct.
However, Shikanda downplayed the expulsion, saying it was not only illegal and unprocedural but "a joke."
"We were not allowed into the venue to answer the charges, and the meeting was run by people who had not been endorsed by the General Assembly. The delegates had voted Isaac Munene as the Secretary General and Vincent Nyasani as the Chairman for the SGM. The changes were delibarately made to achieve a certain agenda..." said the ex-Kenyan international, insisting that "those fundamental flaws mean the removal process is null and void."
Shikanda also claimed that some unknown people impersonated genuine delegates and voted in the SGM, another reason for rubbishing the process as laughable.
"A total of genuine 48 delegates were locked out of the venue, yet they claimed that 66 delegates participated in the process. That translates to a total of 114 delegates, while we know there were only 92 members eligible for the excercise. It is a cheap and a shameful lie," added the former Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards player.
Additionally, failure to question the seven NEC members allied to FKF president Hussein Mohammed as the Congress had anticipated was selective justice, according to Shikanda.
Asked what would follow the controversial Meru event, the former AFC Leopards Chairman was coy to reveal their cards, only saying they were not relinquishing their NEC roles.
Shikanda, who was flanked by Mariga and Mghendi among other members who could not access the SGM venue following chaotic scenes in the morning and later afternoon, however signalled a possibility of seeking legal redress.
The drama comes at a time Harambee Stars is in camp preparing for their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa on Friday.
