Linda Mwananchi Movement leaders have called for unity within the opposition, urging political leaders to set aside their differences and agree on one formidable presidential candidate to challenge President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election.

During a tour of Kwale County, the leaders drummed up support for movement leader Edwin Sifuna and criticised President Ruto's administration, demanding full public disclosure of major contracts, including those involving Mrima Hill mines.

The leaders and their allies toured Samburu, Mariakani, Kombani, Kinango and Ukunda in Kwale County to popularise the outfit.

"Nataka wakae chini na Rigathi Gachagua, wakae chini na Kalonzo Musyoka na Matiang'i, alete kura iingie kwenye box. Viongozi wote watafutwe,” said Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.

Sifuna on his part said, "Hakuna shimo tutawachilia Kasongo ahepe, na kufanya hivyo lazima tutoe kikosi moja hatari sana.

The leaders also drummed up support for Sifuna to face President Ruto, urging opposition figures to rally behind the Nairobi Senator.

Naomba akina Kalonzo, Matiang'i, Gachagua wakuje. Hatutaki kuona watu wengi,” Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembea stated.

The leaders also criticised the government over its involvement in the controversial Mrima Hill mineral deposits, questioning how the valuable natural resource was being managed and whether the interests of the local community were being protected.

They said their demands for accountability were being made on behalf of Kwale residents.

"Anasema eti, ooh, kina Sifuna wakijua tutakwenda tumtowanishe Mheshimiwa William Ruto.
