The leaders maintained that the opposition was prepared to defend the people's vote, even as they called on supporters to ensure they were registered and ready to participate in the election.
People's Liberation Party (PLP) leader Martha Karua urged Kenyans to take an active role in safeguarding the electoral process, warning against complacency.
“Kama huna kura chukua kura. Kama watu wa nyumba yako hawana kura chukua kura. Wacha kudanganywa ati wataongeza. Msibabaishwe, hivyo ndio mtakuwa askari katika polling stations," Karua said.
People's Party of Kenya (PPK) leader Ndindi Nyoro also took aim at President William Ruto, suggesting that the President would face defeat in the next election.
“Wee William Ruto, vile rafiki yako Trump ameonyeshwa mlango, ata wewe ni hapo hapo. Next year tunakunyoa bila maji,” Nyoro said.
The leaders also sought to project a united opposition front, dismissing claims of a deepening rift within their ranks and insisting that their differences were ordinary political disagreements that did not threaten their common cause.
Nyoro added that the opposition was working together to mobilise support across the country as part of its strategy to challenge President Ruto.
“Sisi kama opposition tumeshikana wote kwa sababu hiyo ndiyo strategy ya kupeleka William Ruto nyumbani. Ndiyo maana mnaona tukiwa hapa, akina Kalonzo wako Nyanza, tunajaribu juu chini tutafute kura kwa kila namna," Nyoro stated.
Jubilee Party leader Fred Matiang'i dismissed predictions that the opposition would fall apart, saying those betting on its disintegration would be disappointed.
“Nimekuwa nikiambia watu ambao wanafanya betting kusema tutasambaratika, you will lose your bet," Matiang'i noted.
Karua, however, called for mutual respect among opposition leaders, warning against any attempts by individuals to dictate who should or should not be part of the coalition.
“Hatuwezi tukaungana bila kuheshimiana. Viongozi tuheshimiane. Hatutaki kiongozi mmoja ama wawili kuambia wengine hawafai,” Karua.
With political rivalry within the opposition continuing, the leaders maintained that holding separate meetings and engaging different voter blocs was part of a wider strategy to reach more Kenyans and mount a formidable challenge against President Ruto.
