Leaders under the United Opposition group now say they are
compiling evidence with intention to sue President William Ruto at the International
Criminal Court (ICC) over alleged killings by those they termed as
government-hired criminals.
Speaking while winding up the faction's Ukambani tour on
Thursday, Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua and his
Wiper Patriotic Front counterpart Kalonzo Musyoka claimed that a number of gangs
have been incorporated into the security agencies to cause havoc ahead of,
during, and after the 2027 General Election.
The opposition leaders, who also included DAP-K party leader
Eugene Wamalwa and DP’s Justin Muturi, called out Interior Cabinet Secretary
Kipchumba Murkomen and Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja for the rising
number of criminal gangs now reportedly standing at 100 across the country.
kazi kwa sababu wanatumia goons kutekeleza uhalifu,” said Gachagua.
The opposition outfit is now demanding for full protection
from goons and gangs for its upcoming political engagements.
Kenya,” added Gachagua.
The leaders called upon residents of Ukambani to register as
voters in large numbers, in order to turn the tide against incumbent President William
Ruto during the polls.
