One killed, another injured after being struck by lightning in Narok

Narok South deputy county commissioner Felix Kisalu said one person was left injured following the incident.

He added that the two were at Triangle trading center near Maasai Mau forest when tragedy struck.

"The were at a local hotel at the time amid heavy downpour," Kisalu added.

The injured man was rushed to Longisa Hospital in neighboring Bomet County.

"We rushed to the scene when we got the distress call from locals. We called an ambulance and rushed the two to the hospital," police noted.

The body of the deceased was taken to Longisa Hospital mortuary.

Meanwhile, Kisalu has urged locals to be cautious ahead of the expected El Niño rains.
