One dead, several injured in accident on Kisii–Keroka road

One person has been confirmed dead following a road accident that occurred in Keumbu area along the Kisii–Keroka road.

According to police reports, a Kisii Classic bus travelling from Nairobi lost control after a suspected brake failure.

The bus first rammed into a private vehicle that was parked by the roadside before colliding with a matatu heading from Kisii to Keroka.

The impact hit the matatu on the right side, causing it to overturn. One passenger died on the spot, while several others sustained serious injuries.

The injured were rushed to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.

Police officers arrived at the scene and have launched investigations into the cause of the accident.
