Interior Security Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has urged political leaders and citizens to uphold peace and unity, saying the country’s stability depends on collective responsibility.

Speaking on Saturday in Seme, Kisumu County, Omollo cautioned leaders against statements or actions that could incite unrest, saying democratic competition must be exercised responsibly.

He spoke while addressing mourners at the burial ceremony of the father of Seme MP James Nyikal.

Omollo also defended the right of leaders to campaign freely, saying democratic participation must be protected while maintaining respect and harmony among communities.

He said Kenya’s development should not be distributed along selective lines, and urged residents to reject divisive rhetoric and avoid being drawn into past political tensions.

The PS expressed confidence that the Nyanza region will back President William Ruto for a second term, citing ongoing development projects, and claimed leaders from the region had agreed to champion the President’s re-election.
