With Kenya set to host one of the most anticipated stops on the global Sevens calendar, Okatch says fans should expect a complete rugby experience built around speed, entertainment and inclusivity.
According to the KRU boss, the fast-paced nature of Sevens rugby alone makes the event unmissable.
“First of all, the rugby itself is very engaging. Sevens is extremely fast, meaning you have to stay focused because if you blink, the action has already moved on to the next play,” Okatch said.
She added that the tournament has been carefully packaged to cater for all age groups, making it an ideal outing for families and first-time rugby fans.
“Beyond the rugby, there will be lots of entertainment and dedicated spaces for everyone, including a Family Corner, Kiddies Corner and the Kenya Corner. We are inviting all fans to come out and be part of this great rugby celebration,” she noted.
The two-day tournament will bring together top international teams battling for promotion and valuable series points, with Kenya’s representatives expected to enjoy massive home support at Nyayo.
The event also offers local fans a rare opportunity to experience world-class rugby at close range, with matches played in quick succession throughout the day.
Hosting the HSBC SVNS Division 2 marks another major boost for Kenyan rugby, underlining the country’s growing reputation as a hub for elite Sevens action.
