'Salala!': President Ruto expresses shock at state of road in Wundanyi

President William Ruto has expressed shock at the state of a road in Wundanyi, Taita Taveta County, saying he had been assured the road was in good condition only to find it in a deplorable state during his visit.
Ruto, who is in Wundanyi this Saturday to lay the foundation stone for Wumingu Technical and Vocational College, reacted to the condition of the road, exclaiming, “Salala!”, and "balaa kubwa".
The President said he had been informed that the road was in good condition, but seeing it for himself had painted a different picture.
Ruto said the Government would move to address the situation, promising that within one month, funds would be secured, a contractor identified and works on the road commenced.
The commitment comes amid concerns by residents over the condition of roads in the area, with poor road infrastructure affecting transport and access to essential services.
