Ochieng rallies Strathmore Blades ahead of Lakeside duel

Strathmore Blades head coach Tony Ochieng wants to see collective effort as they prepare for their National Men’s Basketball Premier League clash against Lakeside on Sunday at the USIU Grounds, Nairobi.

Ochieng admitted that limited training time has disrupted the team’s preparations over the past two weeks, leaving the students with little room to adjust their playing system ahead of the crucial encounter.

“One of the challenges this week, just like last week, has been training. Therefore, our plan will be to depend on the team’s skills and collective effort. We have had very limited time for training, meaning we have had little chance to adjust or work on our system,” said Ochieng.

Despite the challenges, the tactician remains optimistic after closely studying Lakeside through video analysis and believes teamwork and proper ball movement could give Strathmore the advantage.

“I’ve been watching our opponents through video analysis and things are looking good. For us, teamwork and team chemistry will be a key factor in that game to push us for the win. 

"I’ll be happy with any growth, especially in the areas we have been trying to control like ball movement, but I’m looking forward to a great display from the boys,” added Ochieng.

Strathmore heads into the match sitting seventh on the standings with 11 points from seven matches after registering four wins and three defeats.

Lakeside are placed 10th with nine points after winning two and losing five of their seven matches this season.
