ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale confirmed that Mr Oginga is abroad for a check-up but insisted that he is in good spirits.
"Yes, he is in the United Kingdom for a routine checkup. He is doing fine," said Mr Etale.
According to Mr Etale, Oburu is expected back in the country on Saturday.
The Siaya Senator's medical trip abroad came days after he was "briefly admitted" to the Nairobi Hospital on September 1.
Word of his hospitalisation made the news, and he rushed to dispel rumours about the seriousness of his condition.
"I had only briefly visited the hospital for a general check-up with my doctors and have since returned home," said Oburu.
He further stated that he embraces transparency and would inform the public in case of serious health complications.
"Being sick is a normal human experience and should not alarm anyone. The day I am truly sick, I will inform you all, for I am a very transparent person," he said.
He later had subsequent meetings with political leaders and friends who paid him a courtesy call to check on his well-being.
He has also since stayed away from the political limelight.
