Nzoia Sugar head coach Charles Odero has said his team is determined to beat Naivas FC in their National Super League (NSL) fixture this weekend.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, Odero said his players are working hard to finish the season strongly despite facing a tough opponent. Naivas currently sit above Nzoia Sugar in the league standings, but the coach remains confident of getting a positive result.
“Naivas are a good side with a great coach, and they are above us in the standings. However, we are not focusing on the table. Our target is to win on Sunday because we have prepared well for the match,” said Odero.
He added that the team has no major injury concerns ahead of the fixture.
“Our striker, who picked up an injury, is recovering well and will be assessed before the match,” he said.
Nzoia Sugar head into the match following a 1-0 defeat to MCF in their previous outing. Odero blamed poor officiating for the loss and admitted his side failed to make the most of their chances in front of goal.
However, the coach believes the team has addressed those weaknesses ahead of the Naivas clash.
“We have worked on our mistakes and improved our finishing,” he added.
