Nyamira: Probe as 18-year-old university student dies by suicide

Police in Nyamira County are investigating the death of an 18-year-old university student.

Police said the girl’s body was found at their home in Ogingo village, Kitutu Masaba Constituency.

According to her parents, James Mogaka Odhiambo and Vickline Moraa Mogaka, they had left home earlier to attend her funeral.

Upon returning in the evening, they found their daughter’s body hanging behind the house.

The deceased, who was studying Business Administration at Maseno University, had left school the day before after finishing an exam.

The distraught parents said there had been no prior indication of any problems or signs of distress.

 Police arrived at the scene and moved the body to Nyamira County Referral Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.
