In a statement, the Authority stated that traffic enforcement officers, speed cameras, and sobriety checkpoints will be deployed at strategic points to enhance responsible driving.
NTSA appealed to the public to adhere to the traffic rules to reduce fatal crashes. Habits such as overspeeding, drunk driving, failure to maintain lane discipline, dangerous overtaking, and use of unroadworthy vehicles were highlighted as major contributors to road accidents.
"Let us arrive alive and celebrate with our loved ones. Drive responsibly," the statement read in part.
The statement comes as NTSA recently recorded over 1,100 fatalities in the past three months due to road accidents. Of these, Murang'a and Kiambu emerged among the top counties affected.
The Authority appealed to motorists to be cautious and follow road safety rules.
"These numbers are nothing to be proud of. Last year alone, we lost over 5,000 lives. This year alone, we have lost over 1,100 people. I urge you to remain vigilant on roads," NTSA official Njeri Kuria spoke during a public forum in Murang'a County on March 22, 2026.
