Kibera Blackstars head coach Iddi Badi has lauded his attacking unit following a convincing 2-0 victory over National Super League heavyweights Mombasa United in a weekend clash that boosted their promotion hopes.

‎Speaking to Citizen Digital, Badi singled out his forwards for stepping up when it mattered most, noting that their discipline and sharpness in front of goal made the difference against one of the league’s top side.

‎"Looking at this season, we have not been scoring many goals, but we kept working on that and the way we approached the game against Mombasa United helped us a lot. I kept telling my boys to believe in themselves. Mombasa United are not there by chance, they are a very good team and we respect them," he said, emphasizing the importance of improved attacking efficiency.

‎Kibera Blackstars have struggled for goals in recent matches, a concern that the technical bench had been keen to address ahead of the encounter. The coach revealed that the team deliberately focused on sharpening their attacking play in training, a move that clearly paid off with a clinical display against Mombasa United.

‎With just 10 matches left before the season concludes, Badi remains optimistic about his side’s chances of securing promotion to the top tier.

‎"I believe we can still get something out of the remaining 10 matches and finish strong," he added, expressing confidence in his squad’s ability to finish strongly and break into the promotion spots.

‎Currently sitting seventh on the log with 45 points, Kibera Blackstars still have ground to cover, trailing league leaders Migori Youth and Mombasa United by 13 points. However, the recent victory has injected fresh belief into the squad as they push for a strong finish in the National Super League campaign.
