Nanyuki: Investigations as medic reportedly killed, body dumped outside an apartment

Police in Nanyuki are investigating the death of a medic whose body was discovered outside an apartment early Wednesday morning.

According to Muchemi Wachira, the area chief, he was notified that a body was discovered outside Serian Suites in Nanyuki between 4-5 a.m.

"Wakati tulifika hapa tukapata mwili unavunja damu, ndio tukaita polisi wakaja wakaanza ujasusi,"  Wachira said. 

"Alikuwa amekatwa shingo na kudugwa na kisu kwa kifua," 

The male body appears to have suffered injuries to the neck and back from a sharp object, according to preliminary investigations.

The area chief stated that the deceased, John Mwangi, had been a medical intern at the Nanyuki Referral Hospital but had just accepted a position elsewhere.

Officers from the Nanyuki Police Station said the deceased appeared to have been killed in his home and his body dumped outside the apartment.

The administrator stated that there was a blood trail leading to the victim's house, which was padlocked, but blood-soaked keys were left nearby.

"Tuliweza kufungua ile nyumba pamoja na askari na tukapata nyumba imelowa damu,' the area chief added. 

"Hii Kitendo ilifanyika kwa nyumba halafu huu mwili ukaletwa hadi nje ya nyumba,"
