14 mourners escape unhurt in Nandi road accident

A matatu carrying a body for burial was involved in an accident in Nandi leaving two passengers seriously injured.
The driver who was headed to Ahero from Eldoret lost control causing the vehicle to roll over several times before landing in a ditch.
Mr. Ken Opande said the accident occurred because he was trying to avoid colliding with a petrol tanker along the Nandi Hills-Kopere-Chemelil road.
Those injured were taken to Nandi Hills County Hospital and were expected to be discharged on Saturday evening.
Mr. Opande said alternative arrangements were made for the body to be transported to Ahero for the burial to continue as planned.
