Nairobi set to host global agribusiness expo

Nairobi will host more than 200 exhibitors from over 60 countries next month as global players in agriculture, food processing, packaging and manufacturing converge for the 10th International Trade Expo AgroFood-Plastpack-Paper 2026.

The three-day exhibition, scheduled for August 20-22, is being organised by Dubai-based MXM Exhibitors in partnership with the Kenya Veterinary Association (KVA) and the Institute of Packaging Professionals Kenya (IOPPK).

The event is expected to attract thousands of trade visitors, including manufacturers, farmers, investors, policymakers, distributors and technology providers seeking business partnerships and investment opportunities across East Africa.

KVA Honorary Secretary Dr. Carol Khaemba said the association's participation will strengthen the exhibition's scientific and technical focus, particularly on livestock production and food safety.

"The Kenya Veterinary Association is proud to partner as a joint host of the 10th International Trade Expo Agro & Poultry Africa 2026, a platform that brings together key players across the livestock and agribusiness value chain," she said.

Khaemba noted that KVA will coordinate discussions on animal health, disease prevention, food safety, animal welfare and emerging technologies, adding that veterinarians play a critical role in disease surveillance, livestock certification and safeguarding public health.

"Our participation underscores the critical role veterinary professionals play in transforming agriculture and safeguarding public health," she said.

MXM Exhibitors event organiser Axan Rashid said the exhibition has evolved into a leading platform for knowledge exchange and commercial networking.

"The exhibition brings together key stakeholders from across the agricultural value chain to showcase emerging technologies, facilitate business partnerships and promote investment opportunities," Rashid said.

The expo will feature technologies in precision agriculture, smart irrigation, artificial intelligence-powered farm management, agricultural drones, automated poultry systems, food processing equipment and sustainable packaging solutions.

Participants will also attend technical workshops, live demonstrations and business networking sessions covering food security, climate-smart agriculture, mechanisation, agribusiness financing, packaging innovation and export markets.

Organisers say the exhibition comes at a time when Kenya is seeking to modernise agriculture, expand value addition and promote sustainable manufacturing, positioning Nairobi as a regional hub for agribusiness trade, technology transfer and investment.
