In an official statement, the club also confirmed the exit of assistant coach Philip Wanjoya, bringing an end to the duo’s short tenure with the St Sebastian Park-based side.
The club thanked the duo for their service, praising their professionalism, dedication, and contribution while in charge.
“Murang’a Seal FC wishes to thank Coach Osbourne Monday and his assistant Philip Wanjoya for their commitment and efforts.
“We wish them all the best in their future endeavors,” the statement read.
Following the changes, the club swiftly appointed former Harambee Stars stalwart Dennis Odhiambo as the new head coach on an interim basis as they hunt for Monday’s permanent replacement.
Odhiambo who previously featured for Murang’a Seal, KCB and Sofapaka during his playing days is expected to steer the team through the remainder of the campaign.
He will be assisted by Marcus Abwao, who joins the technical bench as assistant with their first assignment being a challenging home tie against Nairobi United.
The club reiterated its commitment to achieving its objectives this season, expressing confidence in the new technical team to guide Murang’a SEAL forward.
The coaching changes come in the backdrop of the club’s elimination from the FKF Cup, where they suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat to Mfalme FC in the Round of 16. Mfalme, is an Eldoret-based side founded in 2015, competes in FKF Division One Zone D.
Prior to the Cup exit, Monday had endured a difficult run, going four matches without a win and managing just one victory in his last seven outings.
In the aftermath of the defeat in the Cup, Monday had hinted at stepping down, alleging internal challenges within the club, including claims of sabotage involving some players and officials.
A former player, Monday previously featured for Tusker FC and Mathare United during his playing before joining Shabana as an assistant coach from where he switched to Murang’s Seal as head coach.
