Bandari FC interim coach Twahir Muhiddin has praised his players for a job well
done, after the club finished sixth in the FKF-PL campaign that came to an end on
Sunday.
The Dockers defeated Posta Rangers 2-1 at the Police Sacco Stadium concluding Muhiddin’s short unbeaten stint at the dockyard where he won six matches and drew two.
The veteran
tactician said the playing unit gave him smooth time to execute a few changes
despite starting the season on a wrong foot.
“I changed a
few technical things but my players deserved the praise due to their sacrifice
and following instructions,” said the soft-spoken coach.
He termed
the long pre-season training after the FIFA suspension as a main reason behind
a slow start in the league under the stewardship of Anthony Modo Kimani who
left the club last month.
“We had a
longer period than ever because of the wrangles where we were forced to train
without matches and that contributed a lot to our slow pace when the leagues
kicked off.”
Muhiddin
will now take back his technical director seat as he concentrates on his CAF
assignments while Bandari embarks on the journey to find a new coach.
“I hope the
new coach will continue where I left because it was not an easy task to shape
the boys and I wish him all the best whoever he will be employed with,” he
added.
According to
one of the board of directors, the club has officially started their process of
hiring a new tactician ahead of their pre-season.
Bandari
parted ways with Kimani after poor run in the league with Muhiddin appointed on
an interim basis to guide the Dockers to the end of the campaign.
