Kenya Police FC have confirmed the departures of Kenneth Muguna, Jesse Were, and Duncan Otieno as the club begins to reshape their ranks ahead of the 2025/26 FKF Premier League season.

The trio exits after contributing significantly to the club's historic league title last season.

The ex–Gor Mahia midfielder, who joined the law enforcers in 2023, leaves after two impactful seasons.

The 29-year-old played a crucial role in the club’s midfield engine in the minutes he played and was instrumental in their recent title success.

“We bid farewell to Kenneth Muguna. His contributions will be remembered fondly,” the club stated in a farewell post.

Duncan Otieno’s second stint with the club also comes to an end. Known for his consistency and work rate in central midfield, Otieno was a reliable figure during a transitional period for the team.

Striker Jesse Were departs after just one season, signing off as a league champion. The former Tusker and Zesco United forward brought valuable experience and leadership to the frontline.

With their exits confirmed, Kenya Police are expected to enter the transfer market aggressively as they prepare to defend their maiden FKF Premier League title.

Muguna’s career has seen him feature for Gor Mahia, KF Tirana (Albania), Azam FC (Tanzania), and now Police FC. Muguna has also featured and captained Harambee Stars in past occasions.

Jesse Were, 36, also had an illustrious career in Zambia with Zesco United, where he spent eight seasons before short spells at Kansanshi Dynamos and later Kenya Police.

His domestic career began at Mathare United and Tusker FC, where he won multiple Golden Boot awards.

As Kenya Police look to reinforce their squad, the focus remains firmly on sustaining their newfound dominance in Kenyan football.
