Motorists using the Nairobi - Mai Mahiu - Narok Highway have been urged to drive with caution following the heavy downpour on Saturday morning.
In a post on social media on Saturday, Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) notified motorists of "ongoing clearance of the overburden following heavy rainfall which resulted in flooding and extensive deposition of eroded material on the road."
KeNHA said it has put in place measures to help motorists drive safely through the area.
Motorists have been advised to follow instructions to avoid getting stuck on the mud deposits.
