Mother-in-Law actor Ras bereaved

Citizen Television’s Mother-in-Law actor, John Githui, better known to many as Ras, has lost his mother Ms Nancy Wangechi Githui.

The actor’s mum passed away last Sunday at Tumutumu Hospital in Nyeri after a long battle with stomach ulcers and meningitis.

Ms Githui will be buried on Wednesday, February 3 in Gatitu village, Nyeri County.

Family and friends are meeting in Nyeri and Nairobi for funeral arrangements. A fundraiser to clear the deceased’s hospital bills will be held on Sunday, January 31.

Ras took to his Facebook page on Sunday, January 24 to break the sad news to his fans.

In a brief but emotional message he wrote: “You were one person I loved greatly Mom….now you are gone. I feel so empty; all I have are tears of pain. Rest in peace Mom. I’ll always love you.”

Fans consequently took to his timeline to console him.

Ms Githui, 58, is survived by two sons, John and Robert Mwangi and five grandchildren.

Four weeks ago, Ras survived a gruesome accident on Landhies road, near Muthurwa market in Nairobi.
