Mother abandons 5-month-old toddler at Migori bus park

The child was rescued by some of the Migori county Bunge la wananchi members at the bus park.

Suna West sub county Bunge wananchi chairperson Fredrick Ouma said the mother of the child left them in the custody of a school girl who was traveling to school.

Ouma said the school girl indicated that the mother of the child asked her to look after her briefing, claiming that she was going to pick something within the bus park. She never came back.

He said they reported the case to the police and the children department.

Suna West sub county Bunge la wananchi chairperson has appealed to the members of the public to be careful with people who would want to leave their children and other items in their custody claiming to be handling other issues around.

His remarks were echoed by Winnie Atieno who has appealed to the family of the abandoned child to come out and take the child.
