An estimated 1000 households will benefit from the title deeds.
The initiative is aimed at reducing the number of squatters and unregulated settlements in Mombasa County.
Speaking in the area during a meeting with the residents to introduce the surveyor and the beginning of the activity, the lands CECM, Mohamed Hussein, asked the residents to be vigilant during the critical exercise, which may be invaded by politicians, especially now that political tension is rising in the country.
In addition, he requested the residents to support the surveyors to ensure the smooth running of the activity, leaving spaces for necessary public utilities that will be developed in the area.
Jomvu Constituency is among the constituencies with a high number of informal settlements, with many squatters having no land tenure.
Mombasa Governor has previously been vocal on matters of the issuance of the title deeds.
