Mixed Fortunes for Kenya In Day One of African Schools Football Championship CECAFA Qualifiers Games

Kenya's under-15 girls have
exhibited their prowess in the dynamic start of the CAF African School Football
Championships CECAFA qualifier games that kicked off today at Kasarani Stadium.
The Kenyan girls marked their
dominance in the tournament with a 2-0 victory against Rwanda. The host team
got their goals from Faith Boke and Brenda Achieng’.
They went further to win
their next match against Tanzania who they beat 1-0 courtesy of a lone goal from
Wambui Tabitha.
Conversely, the Kenya U-15
boys began the tournament with a 1-0 loss against Tanzania but later redeemed
themselves with a 2-0 win against Somalia.
This tournament aims to
nurture football among young talents and consists of six teams from Kenya,
Uganda, Somalia, Rwanda, Tanzania and Burundi.
The teams will engage in a
round-robin format, and their schedule includes four matches for the girl's
teams and six matches for the boy’s team.
The CAF African Schools
Football Championship CECAFA Qualifier will run until Wednesday, December 13,
2023.
