A family in Juja is making an urgent appeal to the public to help find their missing relative, Esther Wairimu Keige, who went missing under mysterious circumstances on Wednesday afternoon.

Wairimu was last seen around Gachororo area, Juja Town, wearing a black dress and black shoes, as detailed in the circulating missing-person flyer.

According to her elder sister, Margaret Wanja Keige, Wairimu, who lives in Juja, had travelled to work along Kiambu Road.

At around 3 PM, she was on her way back home to Juja, accompanied by her driver.

"Due to a medical condition, Wairimu had recently hired a female driver to assist her with daily commuting," the sister said in an online show.

Once they arrived in Juja, the duo stopped at a Shell petrol station, and Wairimu decided to walk over to the nearby Senate Hotel to inquire about joining a gym. The sister says her doctor had recommended it to help with her condition.

"Staff at the hotel confirmed that Wairimu did indeed enter the hotel and inquired about the costs, and was even shown before she left," added sister Wanja.

Meanwhile outside, Wairimu's driver tried to call her boss to check on her, and they spoke, telling her she would be back shortly. A few minutes later, her phone went off.

"When she couldn't reach her on the phone, the driver left the car at the petrol station and went inside the hotel," recalls Wanja. "The staff said she had been there but did not know where she went after leaving."

Wanja says this is not the first time her sister has gone missing. A few years ago, Wairimu wandered off but was luckily found on a nearby farm close to their home in Juja.

Because of this, Wanja says, the family initially centred their search around their local area.

Wairimu's family notes that she manages her mental health condition with daily medication, emphasising that she leads a completely normal life, and a stranger interacting with her would never know she has a medical issue.

Since they reported her missing to the police and posted her details on social media, the family says they have received unconfirmed leads from various regions, including Thika, Narok, and Namanga.

The family is desperately appealing to anyone with information regarding her whereabouts to come forward and help save Wairimu.

If you see her or have any relevant information, please contact the nearest police station immediately or reach out to the family directly using the official contact numbers listed on the missing person poster.

The numbers are: 0719483323, 0722791139, 0722809878, 0700012803.
