Migori Youth FC have been crowned champions of the 2025/26 National Super League (NSL) following a dramatic 1-1 draw against second-placed 3K FC at Moi Stadium, Embu.
The hosts took an early lead through Afande Kendrick, who
powered home a header in the 13th minute. Despite a spirited fightback from 3K
FC, the single point was enough to seal the title for Migori Youth.
Speaking to Ramogi FM after the match, Migori Youth FC
patron and Uriri Member of Parliament Mark Nyamita heaped praise on the team
for their remarkable campaign.
“They have shown resilience and quality throughout the
season,” Nyamita said.
He wished the squad well as they embark on a new chapter in
Kenya’s top-flight football.
Nyamita expressed strong confidence in his team’s ability to
compete with Premier League sides, adding: “Their level of preparedness is now
top notch. They are ready to prove their worth.”
The NSL trophy was clinched with a final tally of 81 points,
putting Migori Youth four points clear of 3K FC, who finished as runners-up.
Mombasa United secured the third and final promotion spot with 76 points.
The high-stakes encounter drew a host of dignitaries,
including Public Service CS Geoffrey Ruku, Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire, Migori
Governor Ochillo Ayacko and President’s son George Ruto, among other notable
figures.
Migori Youth will now prepare for life in the Kenyan Premier
League, carrying the hopes of their County and a growing fanbase into the top
tier.
