Matui leaves GSU for REG volleyball club in Rwanda

The 27-year old has signed a two-year deal with REG volleyball club.
Matui, who emerged as the Most Valuable Player in the Kenya Volleyball Federation men’s league, leaves the paramilitary side after decorated six seasons where he helped them win five league titles.
Matui, born in Cheptabach Village in Uasin Gishu commenced his volleyball journey at Malava Boys in 2012, helping them to win the 2015 national title.
He later joined Nairobi Sewerage and Water Company men's volleyball team in 2017 after completing his secondary education where he played for them before joining volleyball giants GSU in 2018.
The opposite player who can also play as an outside hitter has been on meteoric rise since and played a crucial role in helping GSU reclaim their league title last month.
Matui has joined 2023/2024 men’s league MVP Dennis Eskon, Elphas Makuto and Meldina Sande who joined Rwandese clubs last season.
