Former Chief Justice David Maraga is now calling for the suspension of the new education system - the Competency-Based Education (CBE) - citing infrastructural gaps and system failure.

The 2027 presidential contender lamented that the current system is dysfunctional and has overburdened parents and students adversely.

Maraga, who is the United Green Movement party leader, urged the government to review the system, which he describes as shambolic, by involving all the stakeholders in the education sector.

“CBE has not been undertaken after public participation and proper consultations. That is why it is very shambolic. We are going to plan a system that works for everybody. A system that leaves nobody behind," said Maraga.

Maraga urged involvement of stakeholders, including parents, in making decisions concerning education sector.

He accused the Kenya Kwanza regime of being unable to address the teething issues currently facing the students' transition at different levels.
