In less than 12 hours, Michael Phillips, 38, was able to meet his target goal of $6,000 (Ksh. 770,000) for his GoFundMe campaign titled “Help Michael Get Micropenis Enlargement Surgery.”
As of this writing, Phillips has received over 60 donations, totaling more than $11,000 (Ksh. 1.4 million).
The 38-year-old claims the condition means his penis measures only 0.97cm, or 0.3 inches, when fully erect — a feat he says makes his penis the smallest in the world.
Diagnosed with the rare condition in 2025, Mr Phillips quickly gained worldwide attention for his candid discussions about micropenises in UK and US televised interviews.
Phillips shared his story on the GoFundMe page, claiming he was diagnosed with a condition known as micropenis, which hinders his everyday tasks, such as using the bathroom. Phillips alleges he was advised by his doctor to undergo the procedure that would help increase its size.
"This has been a source of daily frustration and embarrassment especially when traveling which I like to do, and it has affected my confidence and independence,” he wrote.
According to TMZ, the procedure involves semi-permanent dermal filler getting injected into his penis.
Phillips claimed he has tried to save up for the surgery, but needs some additional financial assistance to cover the remainder of the costs.
“While this procedure will not cure my Micropenis condition, it would make a significant difference in my daily life by helping me avoid the need for pull ups and regain some normalcy and comfort,” he wrote.
Complete penis reconstructions, or phalloplasties, are typically recommended for males with penises under three inches and are often done for either cosmetic or restorative reasons.
Only 0.6 per cent of the world’s male population possesses a micropenis, with the vast majority not requiring surgical intervention.
Mr Phillip’s procedure is said to additionally involve an injection of semi-permanent dermal filler into his phallus to add extra girth.
The procedure throws a spanner into his record-holding dreams, with the 38-year-old revealing only four months ago that he was researching how he could win a Guinness World Record for smallest penis ever.
