Man kills wife, two-year-old child before taking own life in Machakos

A sombre mood engulfed Machakos county after a 45-year-old man stabbed his 30-year-old wife and their two-year-old daughter to death before taking his own life at their home in Lower Kwandoo village, Mwala, on Saturday.
Mwala Sub-County Police Commander Catherine Kagwiria confirmed the incident, saying detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) had launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
The bodies of the three family members were recovered by police officers and taken to the Machakos Level 5 Hospital mortuary.
