Man hacks 3-year-old daughter to death, injures her two siblings in Kakamega

A 43-year-old man is nursing injuries under police guard after he was attacked by an angry mob for allegedly killing his three-year-old daughter and critically injuring her two siblings in Ikolomani, Kakamega County.
The incident occurred in Imabusi village, where the suspect,
identified as Nathan Shimenga, is accused of attacking his children with a
panga.
According to police, the three-year-old girl died from the
injuries, while her twin brothers, aged four, were rushed to Kakamega County
Referral Hospital in critical condition.
According to reports, the suspect had earlier disagreed with
his wife, who left their home and returned to her parents, an incident believed
to have triggered the attack.
Residents said the suspect attacked the children before he
was discovered, in a case that has left the village in shock.
The suspect was later attacked by members of the public and
sustained injuries. He is currently admitted at Shibwe Hospital under heavy
police guard.
Confirming the incident, Ikolomani OCPD Masai Makau said
investigations have been launched to establish the circumstances surrounding
the incident.
