A man was on Tuesday charged with the murder of his brother, a footballer who was attached to the Kakamega Homeboyz club at the time of his death.

Denmark Muchiti Abung’ana was arraigned before the Kakamega High Court, where he was accused of killing Silas Shihemi Abung’ana at around 8pm in Masiakali Village.

Appearing before Justice Alice Bett, the accused denied the murder charge.

The court ordered that he be detained until March 16, 2026, when it will rule on whether he will be released on bail pending trial.

The prosecution is led by Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Lazarus Sirtuy.
