An 80-year-old man has allegedly been hacked to death by his son-in- Law over a domestic disagreement at Kogola village, Ndhiwa Sub-County, Homa Bay County on Tuesday night as the suspect ran into hiding after the unfortunate incident.

The deceased, identified as Clemtent Ongoro Kotonge, is said to have been attacked and killed by his son-in-Law at his home compound after declining to mediate between him and his wife, with whom he separated with a couple of months ago.

The suspect is reported to have gone to Kotonge’s home to seek mediation talks with his wife to return to their marriage but the deceased declined, enraging the suspect, who used an axe to attack him.

Area Chief Alphonse Odero, the suspect demanded to pick up his children after the Kotongo refused to offer a mediation hearing, another matter which the family also declined.

He says the police have launched a manhunt for the suspect who is still at large as the investigation commences.

The body of the deceased has been moved to Manyatta Kobodo morgue in Ndhiwa sub-county for preservation.
