Young people in Machakos are set to benefit from a technology-driven employment initiative following a partnership between Kenyan entrepreneur Eric Muli and recruitment platform Joby aimed at connecting skilled job seekers with verified employers.

The initiative will use a digital platform to simplify recruitment, improve access to genuine job opportunities and strengthen links between employers and young professionals. As part of the partnership, verified vacancies will be published every month across the creative, hospitality, media and technology sectors.

Speaking during the launch, Muli said technology can help unlock employment opportunities for young people.

"Technology can transform how people access opportunity. Through our partnership with Joby, we are simplifying recruitment, connecting employers with skilled talent and ensuring young people build sustainable careers," he said.

Joby Founder Joram Theuri said the collaboration seeks to build a trusted recruitment ecosystem that benefits both employers and job seekers.

"Our vision is to build the most trusted recruitment ecosystem where talent and opportunity meet without barriers. Through this collaboration, we are giving employers greater confidence in the talent they hire while enabling young people to access meaningful employment and contribute to Kenya's economic growth," he said.

The initiative supports the Machakos County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) 2023–2027, which promotes market-driven solutions to tackle youth unemployment and strengthen economic opportunities.
