Lokichogio Mixed Secondary School has been closed indefinitely following yesterday’s attack that saw five students and a watchman killed in the night attack.
The school headteacher says that the decision has been made after it appeared that students could hardly concentrate on their studies after the ordeal.
Security has been beefed up in other schools in the area, after President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered police to pursue the killers.
“We need to do a serious vetting before we admit students in our school. Students from neighboring country, Sudan, have dubious backgrounds,” the headteacher told the Citizen Digital in an exclusive interview.
Six people were killed among them students after a militia stormed the school in a suspected revenge attack.
Four students, who were seriously injured during the attack, were rushed to Lopiding Sub County Hospital for treatment with referral cases taken to Kakuma Mission Hospital and Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret.
