Leopards new signing Lwanga rallies fans to ‘believe’ ahead of new season

New AFC Leopards signing Taddeo Lwanga has urged the club's passionate supporters to back the squad as Ingwe prepare for an ambitious 2026/27 FKF Premier League campaign.

The experienced Ugandan midfielder remains optimistic about the upcoming season, emphasising that unity between the players and fans will be crucial as the 12-time champions look to upgrade last season’s second-place finish and secure their first league title in 28 years.

Speaking during his official unveiling, the former Vipers SC midfielder expressed his gratitude and called for strong fan backing ahead of the new season.

"To the fans we are ready to give the happiness, just come and support the team, as a team we are working so hard to see that we take AFC to the next level."

Describing his transfer to Ingwe as a major career milestone, Lwanga vowed to collaborate closely with his teammates to bring success back to the club.

The Ugandan international is expected to bring vital leadership and top-level experience to help the team navigate the high expectations of competing for major silverware.

"I am happy to be an Ingwe, I want to assure our fans in Kenya and also those in Uganda that I am ready for the season. With your support I am sure my stay here at AFC Leopards will be productive to me and for the team also."

Club captain Kayci Odhiambo recently shared that the mood in the squad is upbeat and that the new signings have integrated seamlessly.

"The task ahead is very difficult but we will do our best, we finished in second position and with the new arrivals something is cooking, the mood is good and positive so as we move ahead we hope to achieve something great," he said.

Armed with a strong mix of seasoned veterans and fresh talent, Leopards will aim to translate their preseason momentum into pitch dominance when the league action resumes.
