Residents of Kuresoi North, Nakuru county, have raised an alarm over rising cases of cattle rustling, with locals resorting to lynching one culprit in the latest incident.

The thief's accomplice escaped with injuries.

The cattle thieves had stolen six sheep.

The incident comes barely a week after two other thieves were lynched in Sitoito area after they attempted to make away with cattle.

The thieves attacked three people during the incident and are nursing serious cuts at Molo Sub-county Hospital.

Locals have lamented over Kuresoi police officers' laxity in dealing with the rising cases of cattle rustling.

They called for urgent intervention from security bosses.

Kuresoi North MP Alfred Mutai urged the government to work with chiefs to enhance security.
