Kenya Airways has announced the temporary suspension of its flights to Dubai and Sharjah following the closure of the United Arab Emirates airspace.

In a customer update issued on February 28, 2026, the airline said the suspension will remain in place until further notice, citing safety concerns for both passengers and crew.

As a result of the disruption, the airline confirmed the cancellation of flight KQ310, KQ305 and all freighter flights operating on the affected routes.

The national carrier apologised for the inconvenience caused and assured affected customers that it would reach out directly to offer necessary assistance.

“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience and understanding. We will communicate and engage directly with affected customers and provide them with the necessary assistance,” the airline stated.

Passengers were advised to regularly check the latest flight updates through the airline’s website, mobile application or customer care channels.

The disruption follows escalating regional tensions between Israel and Iran.

On Saturday morning, the United States and Israel launched missile strikes against Iran, triggering swift retaliation.

Despite ongoing negotiations with the United States over its nuclear programme, Iran vowed a harsh response and began carrying out retaliatory strikes targeting Israel, as well as several Gulf nations hosting US military assets, including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain.

Beyond the UAE, at least eight countries have closed their airspace due to the conflict, among them Iran, Israel, Iraq, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait.
