Kitutu Central OCPD Kazungu Charo dies in hospital

Kitutu Central Sub-County Police Commander, Kazungu Charo, has died after a short illness.
Charo, who held the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), reportedly fell ill on Friday night and was rushed to hospital, where he was immediately put on treatment. However, he later succumbed.
"The officer for the past six months has been in and out of hospital for blood transfusion and severe pelvic/back pain," said police in a statement.
According to a police statement, the officer had recently been discharged from Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Referral Hospital in Kisumu on April 14, 2026, following treatment.
His body was moved to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.
