Kitui: 13-year-old girl killed, sister injured in hit-and-run accident

A 13-year-old girl died on the spot while another woman aged 23 was injured on Monday night after they were hit by a speeding car in Ndandi village, Kisasi, Kitui County.

Masimbini sub-chief Mulu Kalu said the injured was a sister to the deceased and was taken to Kitui Level 4 Hospital.

The accident occurred along the Kibwezi-Kitui road as the car was heading from Mutomo to Kitui.

“The car sped off and unfortunately, no one was around to take down its registration details,” Mr Kalu said, adding that a search for the driver is underway.
