The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested a police officer attached to Sarangombe Police Post in Kibera over allegations of soliciting and receiving a bribe in connection with a defilement case.

According to the commission, officer Philip Ochieng Adongo allegedly demanded Ksh.4,000 from the complainant to facilitate the arrest of a suspect accused of defiling the complainant's daughter.

The complainant had previously reported the matter at the same station under OB No. 16/18/07/2025, but no action had been taken since.

The EACC received the intel and conducted an operation leading to the arrest of PC Adongo and his accomplice George Otieno Oywer, who is accused of receiving the bribe on behalf of the officer.

Both suspects were escorted to the EACCs Integrity Centre for processing.
