Several people are feared dead following a petroleum tanker explosion along the Eldoret-Turbo road near Paul Boit Secondary School.
The Kenya Red Cross said the incident occurred on Thursday
night, triggering a mass casualty response in the area.
“Kenya Red Cross is on the ground responding in collaboration with Kenya Police and firefighters,” the organisation said in a post on X at around 10:30 pm.
The Red Cross did not immediately provide details on the number of people killed or injured in the incident.
Motorists have been urged to avoid the affected section of
the road to allow emergency teams unhindered access as they respond to the
incident.
